Otto Zapf was recently honored as a "pioneer of German design". In the mid-1950s, he collaborated with Dieter Rams and founded Fimra Vitsœ + Zapf with the Dane Nils Vitsoe. He conquered the international market with innovative furniture concepts such as modular seating or shelving systems made of plastic.
