Table top: white HPL Laminate - Edge: Aluminum / Brushed - Base: Steel / Chrome-plated steel.
Table height: 71 cm
The Superellipse table was inspired by designer Piet Hein’s solution to a traffic problem at Sergels Torg in Stockholm: a superelliptical traffic circle. The Superellipse B612 table offers space for six chairs and open, inclusive gatherings.
The oval super ellipse table is characterized by 3 design features:
1. The super elliptical table top is based on the concept of the Swedish philosopher, poet and mathematician Piet Hein.He created a new oval shape for the busy Sergels Square in Stockholm, which was then used by Fritz Hansen to produce the tables from 1968 onwards.
2. The tension leg technology developed by Bruno Mathsson. Here, the clamping legs are simply clamped under the table top - thanks to the stable construction, the table can be quickly assembled and disassembled.
3. The elegant, all-round aluminum edge.
This table dates from 1979, good vintage condition.
